Employers Pull Back on Hiring in August

Job gains, looking for jobs photo

U.S. employers added just less than 1.8 million jobs in the 12 months ending in August 2017, as job gains continued to slow down.

New York, Atlanta and Dallas had the most job gains of any U.S. metro by volume in August, while Los Angeles fell out of the top 10 in the rankings. Houston had the sixth-highest new jobs, though that was before Hurricane Harvey hit the metro.
