Declining Metro-Level Permit Volumes Bring Down National Numbers in July

Multifamily Authorizations Down 9.4% for Year

New York reclaimed the No. 1 position in metro-level permitting in July, though the national rate of multifamily permitting declined, a sign that apartment construction will likely slow in the next two years.

Miami and San Francisco had the highest year-over-year changes in multifamily permitting.
